Give each campaign link a clear source and purpose. Add UTM tags to a destination URL, then copy the result for your ads, posts, or newsletters.

Use a complete http:// or https:// address.
Where the link appears, such as youtube or newsletter.
The channel type, such as organic_social or email.
A consistent name for this campaign.
Optional. Distinguish a creative, placement, or link.
Optional. Record a paid keyword or your chosen term.
Your campaign link
These labels replace any existing utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, and utm_term values. A blank optional field removes that tag. Other query values and the page fragment stay in the link.
Enter a destination URL.
The tool formats a URL. It does not visit the destination, check its content, or verify that your analytics service will record these labels.
Your inputs stay in this browser tab. The page sends no inputs to a server. Anyone who receives the link can read its campaign labels.
What UTM tags tell you
A UTM tag is a campaign label in a URL. Your analytics service can use these labels to group visits by source, medium, campaign, content, or term. Keep a naming convention so the same source does not appear under several names.
Tags do not measure traffic by themselves. Confirm your analytics setup and its supported values before launch. A visit does not prove a sale, and a tagged link does not guarantee accurate attribution.
Use campaign tags on links that bring people to your site. Avoid them on internal navigation, where they can change attribution. Some signed URLs reject added query parameters; use a destination that permits campaign tags.
